About Fishy Fantasy

Hello there! My name is Joseph and I’m excited to share with you about my beloved hobby of home aquariums.

Home aqauriumFor many years now, I have been an avid enthusiast of freshwater fish. I’ve had the privilege to rear various types of fish, ranging from Neon Tetra, Cherry Barbs, and Rasboras, to the captivating Betta fishes.

My planted aquarium setup as shown has been an absolute joy to maintain, and it has been an incredible experience observing the fascinating interaction between fish and plants.

Over time, my interest in aquariums expanded, and I decided to take on a new challenge and explore the world of giant fish.

Currently, I’m passionate about Arowana, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the learning curve that comes with taking care of these beautiful creatures and maintaining a larger tank.

I started with a Silver Arowana. I had the fish with me for almost 2 years and I added other smaller fishes like the Siamese Tigerfish and the Oscars.

Over the 2 years, I’ve also learnt more about Arowanas and I looked forward to another type of Arowana, the red Arowana.

So after 2 years, I decided to take a move to switch my silver Arowana to a red Arowana. This red Arowana has been with me for many years now.

I made a lot of mistakes in my years of keeping various types of fish. One of the most common mistakes is to overbuy and crowd my tank with a lot of fish, as shown here. Don’t make this mistake!

My current tank is much simpler and my red Arowana has been the sole dweller of my tank.

Having an aquarium is not just a hobby for me; it’s a passion that brings me a sense of tranquillity and inner peace that is challenging to put into words. Observing my fish swim around and interact with each other is a source of joy that never gets old.
